The e-visa is a Tourist (T class) visa: 30 days from your date of entry, single entry, issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the official portal at evisa.gov.kh — the only legitimate government channel for online Cambodia visa applications. Third-party sites charging a premium to "apply on your behalf" add no value; the application takes about fifteen minutes for anyone to complete directly.
The e-visa suits tourism visits at a major airport or a supported land crossing, when you'd rather have your visa sorted before boarding than queue at the border. It isn't the right visa for work, study, or stays beyond 30 days — for those, our ordinary EB visa or work permit services are the right route.
The detail most people miss: the e-visa doesn't work at every crossing. It's confirmed for the three international airports and a number of land borders with Thailand, Vietnam and Laos — including the busy Poipet and Bavet crossings — but not every smaller crossing accepts it. Confirm your specific entry point before you travel; we check this as part of every application we handle. If you arrive somewhere unapproved with only an e-visa, you'll need a tourist visa on arrival instead, where available.
Before applying, gather a passport valid at least six months beyond your entry date with a blank visa page, a digital passport photo (JPEG, white background, taken within six months — the single most common cause of delays), a card for payment, and an email address you can reliably access while travelling. Onward travel evidence isn't always required at application, but officers can ask for it at entry.
When your 30 days are up, you can exit and re-enter on a fresh visa, or convert to an ordinary EB visa inside Cambodia before your e-visa expires — the EB can then be renewed repeatedly without leaving the country. If you're thinking beyond 60 days total, converting is almost always the smarter path, and we can set it up before your e-visa runs out.
How it works, step by step
We confirm your entry point
Before anything else, we check your specific airport or border crossing accepts the e-visa.
We complete and verify the form
Name, passport number, nationality, travel dates — checked against your passport to catch the transposed digit or mismatch that causes trouble at the border.
We check your photo
Against the current specification before it's uploaded — the most common cause of delays and rejections.
Payment and approval
We handle payment and keep the confirmation on file, then track your approval — typically within 3 business days.
Entry, and what comes next
We brief you on presenting your approval letter at entry, and flag your 30-day expiry ahead of time so extending or converting is never a last-minute scramble.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the Cambodia e-visa take to process?
Typically 3 business days, Monday to Friday. Apply at least 5–7 business days before travel to leave a buffer for any query.
Can I extend a Cambodia e-visa?
Not directly — the e-visa itself can't be extended. You can convert to an ordinary EB visa inside Cambodia before it expires, which can then be extended repeatedly. We handle that conversion.
E-visa or visa on arrival — which is better?
Both are 30-day tourist T class visas at USD 30 — current research found no fee difference between them, and that figure reflects converging secondary sources rather than a primary-text check. The e-visa is arranged before you fly and skips the border queue, which matters most at busy airports. On-arrival suits last-minute travellers or entry points where online pre-clearance isn't always accepted.
Is the Cambodia e-visa multiple entry?
No — single entry only. If you exit during your 30 days, the visa is spent. For multiple entries, an ordinary EB visa with a multiple-entry endorsement is the right route.
What if my e-visa application is rejected?
Rejections are uncommon when the application is complete and accurate — photo quality, incorrect information, or an unapproved entry point are the usual causes. If you applied independently and were rejected, contact us and we'll advise on the fastest path forward.
Can I work in Cambodia on an e-visa?
No. The e-visa is a tourist visa — employment requires a work permit and the EB business category. Working on a tourist visa violates Cambodian immigration law.
